Here’s the description of the game by the developers: “Syöksysiemen is a story about a long and difficult journey of a young oak tree. You play as a tree, and your goal is to shoot your seed to a higher ground, where it sprouts your new oak tree. Then you shoot a new seed to an even higher ground. And thus, your journey continues, until you reach the highest and proudest place where to grow gracefully above everything else, like the magnificent oak you are. As you progress, you leave a trail of your own roots, so you’ll always remember where you are coming from. There is also a very high quality and fact based Finnish narrative giving you soothing facts about oak trees, while you make your journey.“
The game totally delivers what it promises. It will hook you up with the simple yet challenging gameplay, but above all the narration. The game offers some facts about trees (I presume they are facts), and some self-irony, teasing the player, and spicing it all up with something someone might call “adult humor”. Yet again I failed to finish this game, since it was quite crushing to climb high just to make one, but bad mistake and see your seed fall back into the start. Go and see if you can finish it.
